Improvement of skills needed for success on the TOEIC listening test: The goal of this course is for students to practice and refine their listening skills in general and develop basic test-taking strategies of the listening section. By the end of this course, students will have increased their vocabulary and understanding of phrases, mastered basic listening strategies, had regular practice in listening for the gist and detail of English conversations and talks, developed the ability to remember English conversations and talks, developed their listening comprehension and practiced listening to numerous TOEIC-type questions. Improvement of skills needed for success on the TOEIC reading test: The goal of this course is for students to practice and refine their reading skills in general and develop basic test-taking strategies of the reading section. By the end of this course, students will have increased their vocabulary and understanding of phrases, mastered basic reading strategies such as skimming and scanning, had regular practice in reading silently and aloud in English, developed an awareness of the reading process, developed their reading comprehension and practiced reading numerous TOEIC-type questions.

Méthode pédagogique Compréhension orale. Les apprentis doivent être exposés à des documents auditifs de toute nature avec une variété d’accents anglais et américains. Prévoir des exercices de compréhension globale et détaillé (gap-filling, summarising, note-taking, dictation,...).
Compréhension écrite. Le test TOEIC demande une grande rapidité de lecture. Prévoir des exercices chronométrés (timed reading) ainsi que des exercices de lecture rapide et en profondeur (skimming & scanning).
